JUST months after finishing as runner-up on SIMON COWELL’s X Factor, SAARA AALTO has cut ties with the music mogul.
Joining me at Bizarre HQ today for an exclusive interview she revealed she has quit Sony to sign a global record deal with Warner.
Saara said: “I was honoured I was signed to Sony. But later I felt like they weren’t the right team.
“When I met the people at Warner they were very excited about my style and making me into this big theatrical artist.”
Saara insisted there is no bad blood with Simon.
She added: “He knows. I’m doing X Factor Finland, so I’m still part of the Sony family.”
Saara is busy working on her new album, which will feature a racy track called Same Sex.
She is also heading into the studio this week to record a collaboration with X Factor winner MATT TERRY.
I can’t wait to hear it.
Mariah dangles carats
I DREAD to think of the diva demands at this do. MARIAH CAREY posed alongside supermodel NAOMI CAMPBELL at the fashion dinner, held at New York’s The Top Of The Standard.
And in typical Mariah fashion, she caused a stir. Days after her Aussie billionaire ex James Packer branded their engagement a “mistake”, the singer was seen wearing the £7.6million, 35-carat ring he gave her. They split a year ago.
And she showed it off on Monday even with new man, dancer BRYAN TANAKA, at her side.
Naomi was there to celebrate with Chanel creative director KARL LAGERFELD, whose party it was. That is one A-list do.
HE made £67million touring the world from 2012 to 2016 but AVICII feared for his life before quitting performing as he battled crippling pre-show anxiety.
The Swedish producer, real name TIM BERGLING, tells all in the new documentary film Avicii: True Stories, in cinemas tomorrow for one day only.
In a row with his team last year, he says: “I don’t want to risk ending up in that dark place again. I’ve told them over and over I won’t be able to play any more. I’ve told them it will kill me.
“I don’t want them to even entertain the idea of doing another gig. I felt s***ty. I felt terrible because I saw how happy all the fans are and I don’t f***ing like it.”
Now he is back with Top Five hit Lonely Together, featuring RITA ORA – he just won’t be playing it live for fans. That’s probably for the best.
Shirty Lewis
LEWIS HAMILTON had a costume change ready at DRAKE’s 31st birthday party.
He wore one checked shirt and had a second tied around his waist.
Drake hired out LA club Poppy for Monday’s bash, which the rapper finally left at 5.40am Tuesday.
After a big year, he had lots to celebrate.
- NICK JONAS revealed his thoughts on DEMI LOVATO’s tune Ruin The Friendship, believed to be about her crush on him. He said: “We’re artists, we have to write about things that are relevant to us and real. I think it’s a great song.”
CHERYL has hit back at a fan who claimed her love life was dead after becoming a mum.
A Twitter user made the comment after Cheryl shared a link to boyfriend LIAM PAYNE’s new single Bedroom Floor.
The jealous fan then tweeted: “I heard it was more baby toys rather on the bedroom floor than clothes.”
But the singer was quick to respond by saying: “Not from where I’m looking” with a tongue out emoji.
Razor sharp as ever.
Ed hatches Pixie plot
HE may be out of the game with two broken arms but ED SHEERAN already has a new collaboration lined up.
I can reveal he has discussed recording a duet with old pal PIXIE LOTT.
In an exclusive interview, Pixie told me: “I have been speaking to Ed about doing something together. I love Ed.
“He is brilliant and an amazing songwriter. We first met when we were 16 and auditioned for a TV drama called Britannia High.
“We’ve been friends for the past ten years.”
Pixie explained that the duet has been put on hold because of Ed’s bike-crash injuries.
She said: “I guess he can’t really play the guitar right now, which is very unfortunate.”
I’m sure he’d say the same.
