Coronation Street star Bruno Langley is fired over claims he sexually assaulted woman in club
CORONATION Street has fired star Bruno Langley as cops probe a woman’s claim he sexually assaulted her in a club.
The actor, 34 — who plays Todd Grimshaw — was revealed to have had his contract cancelled by ITV.
A soap source told of a scramble to reshoot scenes that are meant to feature him.
The insider said: “Crew were heard discussing using a body double.
"New scenes show Adam Barlow telling Ken that Todd has left Weatherfield with his young ward Summer.”
The source added a week after The Sun told of the investigation into the star, who made his Corrie debut in 2001: “It caused shockwaves.”
A spokesman for the soap confirmed: “Bruno Langley is no longer contracted to Coronation Street.”
The actor, who denies her claims, is understood to have been among cast members there who had gone to see ex-Corrie colleague Craig Charles perform a DJ set.
Bruno said last night: “I’d like to thank all of my friends who work on the show for their love, friendship and support during this extremely difficult period.”
