X Factor no-show Simon Cowell in constant pain after mystery collapse at home — as docs warn it could happen again
Doctors are still baffled by what caused the quaffed talent spotter, 58, to faint and have advised him to rest until next week
SIMON Cowell missed tonight’s X Factor — as doctors warned he could collapse again.
The music mogul, 58, is suffering from constant neck pains following a terrifying fall at home.
He underwent a series of tests in hospital but docs are still unsure what caused him to faint on Friday morning.
They advised him to rest until next week — warning the lights and heat in the ITV studio may trigger a relapse.
But it is thought he will ignore them to appear on tomorrow’s second live show of the year.
A source close to him said: “Simon is suffering bad pains in his neck, and is still very shaken.
“He thought he may have broken his back, and he’s told friends it was the most scared he’s ever been in his life.”
However he was given morphine and has improved since coming home — while a schedule change means his contestants will perform tonight instead of last night.
The source went on: “We are expecting him to turn up on the show on Sunday.
"He doesn’t want to leave his acts to perform without him there.
"Provided he continues to improve, he will do everything he can to be there.”
Simon was looking after son Eric, three, when he fainted and fell down the stairs at his West London home.
He was fitted with a head brace and placed on a spinal board before being taken to Chelsea and Westminster NHS Hospital.
Girlfriend Lauren Silverman, 40, has returned from New York while friends and relatives delivered flowers and cards to his home yesterday.
It understood that doctors will be performing further tests on him this week.
