Bake Off’s Kate Lyon has been inundated with marriage offers ahead of the show’s finale
GREAT British Bake Off star Kate Lyon has been inundated with marriage proposals since appearing on the show, according to her mum.
Anna Lyon said her pretty daughter has even had men offering to divorce their wives in a bid to woo her.
Speaking to , the proud mum said: “Kate received tons of marriage proposals when she said she wasn’t married, some offering to divorce their wives.”
But Kate hasn’t got time for romance as she heads into the final round of the Channel 4 baking competition on Tuesday night,
Kate is competing against Sophie Faldo and Steven Carter-Bailey for the Bake Off crown.
The 29-year-old, who is a health and safety inspector from Merseyside, is a fan of “old fashioned” baking techniques.
She has wowed Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith throughout the competition with her creative bakes.
Some of her creations have included a mouth-watering limoncello and mascarpone cake and a Rocky Road hazelnut chocolate tiffin with chocolate seashells.
This series of the hit show is the first to air on Channel 4 after the controversial move from the BBC.
The Sun exclusively revealed in April that Channel 4 were sticking to the same tried and tested recipe for the new series – by using the same venue, tent and theme tune.
The first episode drew an audience of 6.78million at its peak as viewers tuned in on Tuesday to see which of the 12 contestants was crowned star baker and who was sent home.
The channel’s chief creative officer Jay Hunt had insisted Bake Off — previously on the BBC — needed to attract at least three million viewers per episode to break even.
She said after the figures were released: “The Great British Bake Off’s audience proves it’s still one of the country’s favourite shows.
“I am delighted millions watched the new team put 12 magnificent bakers through their paces.
“It’s the largest share of young audiences we’ve had for a show for over a decade.”
