When does Hard Sun start on BBC One?

Hard Sun started on January 6 on BBC One – and the action all concludes tonight, Saturday, February 10 at 9.30pm.

There have been six hour-long episodes in total.

It is a co-production with streaming service Hulu.

What is Hard Sun about?

Hard Sun is a crime show written by Neil Cross, the creator of Idris Elba cop drama Luther, and it is set five years before the apocalypse.

It follows two detectives with diametrically-opposed moral codes who struggle to maintain law and order as the literally earth-shattering event approaches.

Cross has said of the premise: “Imagine the world you see when you look out your window… except it's been given a death sentence.

"This isn’t science fiction. This is the real world. There's no hero to come save us; no contingency plan.

"What’s it like, trying to keep order, trying to enforce the law in a city that, day by day, slips closer to certain destruction?

"What’s the point of justice in the face of Armageddon?"

Who is in Hard Sun and who do they play?

Hard Sun stars Hollywood star Jim Sturgess, known for movies like One Day, as Detective Robert Hicks.

Hicks a wonderful family man and would be equally good at his job, were he not profoundly corrupt.

He must learn to work together with Elaine Renko, played by supermodel-turned-actress Agyness Deyn, who is a damaged but incorruptible copper.

The cast also includes Owain Arthur, Nikki Amuka-Bird, Derek Riddell and Aisling Bea.
