Gemma Collins finally accepts her relationship with James ‘Arg’ Argent is over in heartfelt Instagram post – and reveals plans to get MARRIED on Towie
GEMMA Collins appeared to finally draw a line under her relationship with James 'Arg' Argent as she shared several heartfelt posts on Instagram last night.
The Towie star was clearly feeling emotional as she posted images of the former couple in happier times on social media.
She explained her reasons in one image caption as she said: "Guys we all have to shut the book in life 💖 just happy times 💖 reflecting on that💖 you just have to say goodbye too but just happy memories💖
"We all started out together 6 years ago and noone outside the Towie bubble will get it but i do love Towie and my friends on the show always it’s been a journey we have all learnt and grown since the show stated our lives have changed 💖"
She continued: "Sometimes you just cling on to memories."
She also revealed her long-term goals for her involvement in the reality show.
She added: "💖 ps I am NOT LEAVING the show I want to get married on Towie and share it all with you x"
It comes after Gemma was seen in tears following Arg's rejection on Sunday's episode of The Only Way Is Essex.
Gemma might not have the affections of James Argent but she had a huge swell of support from Towie fans who shared her "painful" snub.
The GC pleaded with the floppy-haired reality TV regular to jet away with her to Tenerife - yet he bluntly told her he wouldn't be getting on board the plane.
Viewers have shared the boutique owner's heartbreak ever since she confessed her feelings to her pal in the last episode.
Gemma told BFF Bobby Norris she wanted to "clear her head" with a holiday to the Canary Island after which Bobby urged Arg to say his piece.
Yet after a heart-to-heart, the emotional show of unrequited love ended with Gemma sobbing as she clambered into her cab to the airport - and a perplexed Arg watching her from the street.
Opening up her heart, Gemma told him: "I can't make you like me, I can't make you love me.
"But I don't know if you will find this thing with anyone else.
"You're the one person I constantly care for."
Yet her heartfelt words didn't convince unlucky-in-love Arg to pack his suitcases and as Gemma drove away alone, fans flooded Twitter to confess they too were in tears.
One wrote: "Poor Gemma 🙈🌚 it's painful to watch 🤷♀️ #weveallbeentherehen #towie" as another put: "GEMMA OMDS😭💔💔 #towie."
A third followed up with: ";We’ve all been a GC at some point in life. Wanna give her a hug," as another posted: "Oh no @missgemcollins 💔 #TOWIE."
One then uploaded: "Actually could cry for Gemma tonight," as one rounded off with: "Bless how honest Gemma is #towie."
The action came after Arg insisted he was just friends with Gemma - when she declared her feelings for him in the previous episode.
Yet he confessed: "If I do have a couple of days if I don't phone her, I do miss her a little bit.
"It doesn't mean I have got feelings for her like that."
Meanwhile in tonight's show, Chloe Sims insisted Gemma can't be friends with her ex Arg following their romantic past.
Her words of advice come just days after Arg friend-zoned an emotional Gemma.
The GC didn't take Chloe's words too well, with pictures from the episode showing a tearful Gemma.
Elsewhere, Georgia Kousoulou was struggling to deal with her emotions when it comes to the prospect of marriage.
She confides in Amber Dowding and Ruby Lacey about her fears for her future and whether marriage really is for her. Reflecting on her own parents' divorce, she breaks down as she admits her outlook has changed.
Gemma burst into tears during Sunday night’s episode of Towie when her Arg told her he “just wanted to be friends."
The veteran reality star broke down after asking Arg why he went into her room late at night to “check on” her if he wasn’t interested in her romantically.
Sitting in her room, Gemma told Arg: “There is something between us!
“We hug each other all the time! I know we're just friends, but in my head I think it's a shame sometimes.”
When Arg turned down her advances, she demanded to know why she came into her room.
Arg went red and tried to laugh it off, but Gemma didn’t see the funny side.
Placing her hands over her face, she told him: “I have got feelings but it’s pointless me saying that, because nothing is going to change.”
As Arg went to hug her, Gemma asked him tearfully what was “so bad” about herself.

He replied: “There's nothing bad about you at all!
“I just love you as a friend. We can't see each other, as that is leading you on and giving you mixed signals, and that isn't right.”
Wiping away her tears, Gemma told him: “That's it then. No friends with benefits. We're pulling the plug.”
Earlier in the evening, Gemma had joked about her relationship with the Celebs Go Dating star – even telling Lauren Pope and Bobby Norris that her spirit friend told her they would “have a baby” in the future.
Since finding out her chance of romance with Arg was history, Gemma has now moved on with another of her former flames.
Yesterday The Sun revealed she was dating her ex-boyfriend, jailbird Stephen Mortimer after they re-connected following his release from prison.
A source told The Sun: “She has forgiven him for hurting her and they are hoping for a fresh start.
"They have a lot of fun together, a strong connection, and she really enjoys his company and he makes her laugh.
“It’s easy for them to spend time together. She’s keen to settle down and have kids and she hopes Stephen could be the answer.”
