BBC blasted for cutting Liam Gallagher gig after rockers X-rated language
THE BBC pulled the plug as it screened a Liam Gallagher gig live because of the rocker’s swearing.
The Radio 2 In Concert performance by the ex-Oasis wildman, 45, was being broadcast simultaneously on the red-button telly service.
Fans who tuned in and heard him turning the air blue before the 9pm watershed were furious as the feed was cut and replaced with a message explaining why.
The concert continued on Radio 2, whose host Jo Whiley warned listeners what to expect before it started at 8pm.
The station is not subject to the same curbs on language.
Thursday’s red button coverage resumed at 8.40pm when footage showed the first five songs with swearing edited out.
A warts-and-all version of the whole show then went out at 9.20pm.
Fans took to Twitter to blast the “shambles”.
Sophie Metcalfe said: “What a waste of time for thousands of viewers.”
