THE X Factor was thrown into chaos briefly this evening as Simon Cowell forgot the show’s running order live on air.
The music mogul and head judge looked utterly clueless when Dermot O’Leary asked him to introduce the next one of his acts.
Shuffling his papers about, he awkwardly said: “Actually I don’t know the running order of this show, so I am going to make this up as I go along.”
As the other judges laughed, he finally seemed to find what he was looking for on his piece of paper and said: “Actually I really did know who was coming up next… it’s Jack and Joel.”
The blunders didn’t stop there though as Nicole Scherzinger mistakenly said that Irish group Sean and Conor were from Scotland.
After the duo performed their version of Freedom! '90 and the crowd went wild, an impressed Nicole said: “Scotland’s in the house!”
Quickly realising her mistake, she said “Ireland” before showing the boys with praise.
Nicole and Sharon raised eyebrows with viewers again as they wore their poppies on the incorrect side.
Traditionally the poppy should be worn on the left lapel, to keep it close to your heart, but they chose to wear it on the right.
Meanwhile Jack and Joel lost their place on the show, despite Nicole saying that Jack sounded just like George Michael.
And fans were delighted as Harry Styles performed his new song Kiwi.
