STRICTLY Come Dancing’s Susan Calman got a shock tonight as judge Bruno Tonioli compared her to Doctor Foster.
The star ditched her happy face and showed her serious side for the sexy routine, but her grim expression left her with an unflattering comparison to Suranne Jones’ disturbed TV character.
Susan showed her serious side with her Tango to Katy Perry’s Firework on tonight’s show and cried after the dance came to an end.
She told the panel the song made her feel emotional and won praise from Shirley.
But Bruno was more concerned about the change in her facial expression, which has gone from enthusiastic smiles to a look of grim determination.
He even compared her to miserable TV medic Doctor Foster, who takes revenge on her cheating husband.
Bruno said: “It was like watching Suranne Jones in Doctor Foster – I’m going to do everything no matter what it takes.”
Shirley added: “Lovely footwork, strong heels, you closed your feet – you’ve still got to keeping working on your frame but from week one you’ve come huge strides..”
Craig added: “You looked as if you were in pain, but I’ve loved your serious side.”
Her hard work paid off as she landed herself 27 from the judges.
The show ended with Davood Ghadami and Alexandra Burke coming top of the leaderboard with 38, and Debbie McGee trailing behind with 35.
Joe McFadden came in third, with his 33, followed by Gemma Atkinson with 28.
Ruth Langsford was at the bottom with 18, and Jonnie Peacock was only slightly ahead of her at 21.
Many viewers were astounded by daredevil Debbie as she performed breath-taking lifts on the show.
Paul Daniels’ widow amazed fans with her daring moves on the dance floor, but she failed to score a single 10 for her less than perfect performance.
Fans will now have to wait until tomorrow to find out who will be facing the dance off.
