Mel B’s bitter divorce battle intensifies as Stephen Belafonte takes on her MUM after she accuses him of ‘abuse’
MEL B's split from ex-husband Stephen Belafonte has just become all the more contentious - after he hit out at the singer's mum and is threatening to SUE her, it has been claimed.
Stephen, 42, is said to be hopping mad after Andrea, 60, publicly accused him of abusing his family.
Sources say Stephen will consider legal action if Andrea can't keep it zipped.
An insider told the : "Stephen is fuming, he has been so happy over the settlement but Mel’s mum won’t back down.
"She continues to accuse him of being a domestic abuser, and that is the biggest deal for him. He wants to clear his name completely."
The claims come after Andrea took to social media to claim Mel's 18-year-old daughter Phoenix may have potentially been abused.
She said: “My daughter is no quitter. The abuse she and Phoenix went through will not be settled out of court...all BS!!
“Not true. All lies. This abuse will no way be settled out of court. Melanie and Phoenix will get justice in court!!”
Earlier this week, former Spice Girl Mel privately settled her divorce with Steven - just days before a two week trial over the domestic violence claims.
The former X Factor judge was no doubt keen to save face - as dozens of sordid sex tapes were to be played to a judge.
Mel had been seeking a restraining order against the film producer and had accused him of drugging her, hitting her, choking her and forcing her to make more than 20 sex tapes.
Belafonte in return had claimed she was addicted to cocaine and alcohol, impairing her ability to look after her kids.
However, the couple have “not yet” reached an agreement over the custody of their daughter Madison - but family law mediator Shaun Collinson said they were working on it.
Insiders say as part of the settlement Mel, 42, must not publicly reference allegations of past abuse concerning Stephen.
