X FACTOR viewers were left fuming after Grace Davies became the second act this weekend to break one of the show’s biggest rules.

The singer/songwriter was expected to sing a George Michael song as the weekend’s episodes were dedicated to the late singer, but instead opted for a track the legend had once covered.

The 20-year-old, who hit headlines this week due to her diva behaviour, belted out Bonnie Raitt's I Can't Make You Love Me.

It comes after The Cutkelvins also opted not to do a George song and instead sang a mash-up of two songs that he covered.

While the judges were impressed with Grace’s rendition, those at home weren’t very happy that she appeared to be making up the rules.

One person wrote: “So Grace sings a song that's not originally a George Michael song. He may have sang it but it wasn't his song. So many to choose from and she picks this. Ffs. #XFactor”.

Another remarked: “#XFactor WTF is Grace singing! It’s NOT a #GeorgeMichael song, If it’s a cover you are not doing a tribute? It’s crap & it’s Not right #PissedOff”

While someone else wrote: “Oh Grace is not doing a George Michael song #xfactor.”

Following her performance, Louis told her: “You are a true artist and you don’t compromise. You are amazing.”

An impressed Nicole said: “You look beautiful tonight. You connected with it, it was just beautiful.”

Simon added: “Why I admire you tonight is that you made an attempt to do something with the song.

“It was dramatic, your voice sounded good.  You are very talented, it was way better than last week.”

While her mentor Sharon touched on her headline hitting week, telling her: “You have had a tough week this week, but you put it behind you.”

Grace said: “I relate to this song more than ever, I can’t make everyone love me if they don’t.”

Last night the Scottish siblings The Cutkelvins delivered a stellar performance of Seal’s Killer and The Temptations’ Papa Was A Rolling Stone.

Viewers again were miffed as to why they chose not to pick a track from his huge back catalogue.
