DAMIAN Lewis has enjoyed an incredible career so far, thanks to his rise to fame in the early noughties.
Sadly in 2022, the actor was left devastated when his wife Helen McCroy passed away aged just 52.
Damian Lewis OBE is an English actor and producer.
He shot to fame in 2001 playing Army Major Richard Winters in Band Of Brothers - the epic ten-part series which followed a unit of US paratroopers in WWII.
Thanks to this role Damian has enjoyed an incredible career, and has gone on to star in some huge TV shows.
The actor stands at 6 feet 1 inch tall and is a keen Liverpool fan.
Damian was born on February 11, 1971, in St John's Wood, London.
He is the eldest son of Charlotte Mary (née Bowater) and John Watcyn Lewis, a City insurance broker with Lloyd's.
His grandfather was Lieutenant-Colonel Sir Ian Bowater, Lord Mayor of London, and his grandmother's ancestors include Bertrand, Viscount Dawson of Penn, who was a doctor to the Royal Family.
Damian enjoyed a privileged upbringing and was educated at Eton College.
After this he graduated from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in 1993.

"God we love her and know how lucky we are to have had her in our lives. She blazed so brightly."
He concluded: "Go now, Little One, into the air, and thank you."
Since 2022, Damian has been in a relationship with punk star Alison Mosshart.
When news first broke of their romance, a pal told The Sun: “People who care about Damian think she might just give him the spark he needs after 14 months of misery.
"Of course there’s no escaping the fact that they do come from very different backgrounds.
“He may have this image as a typically British, straight-laced, public schoolboy type, but in reality he’s much more down to earth than that.
"Meanwhile Alison is far from your stereotypical rock chick and actually has a level of sophistication that means they can make a connection.”
Damian has two children with his late wife Helen.
Their first child, daughter Manon, arrived in September 2006, and had their son, Gulliver, was born in November 2007.
