Tamara Ecclestone’s husband Jay Rutland forced to defend her after viewers slam her lavish life on new ITVBe reality show
TAMARA Ecclestone’s husband Jay Rutland has rushed to her defence after she was inundated with cruel comments about her new reality TV show.
Last night viewers were given an insight into the couple’s incredibly lavish lifestyle with daughter Sophia, three, as the first episode of Tamara’s World aired.
But as Tamara, 33, shared a shot of a congratulations cake she had received, she found herself a victim of nasty comments and hubby Jay was forced to step in.
Hitting back, he told one person: “I think you'll just find our reality is different from yours.
“Because if you're saying your reality is what we should judge by, then by that standard you would be detached from reality for someone starving in Africa. It's all relative.”
And when one viewer suggested he only married the Formula 1 heiress’ for her money, he told them: “Jealousy is a terrible disease hermano, get well soon.”
During the episode viewers were shocked to see Tamara and Jay’s incredible life, which features a £70 million pound home with 50 members of staff and 57 rooms.
It was their daughter Sophie who sparked the most debate though as the three-year-old was presented with a swimming pool sized ball pit and was seen breastfeeding.
Yesterday, Tamara also defended herself during an appearance on Loose Women.
She told the panel: “Listen I know it might seem extreme to some people, but it is kind of is my normality. I would never judge anyone on how they chose their life.”
She continued: “50 is a small exaggeration - that is including hair dressers etc. We don’t have 50 who work in the house. It is a big house all the time and I do have a lot of people helping me. No one lives there.”
