Ashley Jenson plays Kate
Ashley, 48, was born August 11, 1969 and is a Scottish actress and narrator.
She shot to stardom when she co-starred alongside Ricky Gervais playing the hapless Maggie in BBC show Extras.
After this, the roles poured in.
Ashley became known across the globe when she joined the cast of hit TV series Ugly Betty from 2006 - 08.
She then made the switch from TV to film and has starred in many movies including Nativity, Gnomeo and Juliet, The Lobster and Arthur Christmas.
Ashley is also the narrator of Channel 4's Embarrassing Illnesses and Embarrassing Bodies.
More recently she played Agatha Raisin in the TV adaption of the detective books, and also starred in hit show Catastrophe.
Adrian Bower plays Rob
Adrian, 47, was born August 20, 1970, and is an English actor.
He is best known for his role as PE teacher Brian Steadman in hit Channel 4 series Teachers in the 90s and early 00s, alongside Andrew Lincoln.
He then played Leofric in The Last Kingdom, which was adapted from Bernard Cornwell’s historical novels series The Saxon Stories.
Other TV work includes playing John Lennon's best friend Pete Shotton in the BBC4 drama Lennon Naked.
He has also starred in Mount Pleasant and A Touch of Cloth.
Kenny Doughty plays Rick
Kenny, 42 was born March 27, 1975, in Barnsley, South Yorkshire and is an English actor.
He has starred in ITV's Vera and opposite Sheridan Smith in Black Work.
He also did a UK tour of the stage play The Full Monty in 2013.
Rebecca Front plays Judy
Rebecca, 53 was born May 16, 1964, and is an English actress, writer and comedian.
She is known for her work in numerous comedies, including The Thick Of It, the radio show On The Hour (1992), The Day Today (1994), Knowing Me, Knowing You… with Alan Partridge (1994), Time Gentlemen Please (2000–02), the sketch show Big Train (2002), and Nighty Night (2004–05).
Mark Stanley plays James
Newcomer Mark, 29, was born April 29 1988 and is an English actor.
He began acting at Prince Henry's Grammar School.
He later graduated from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in 2010.
Mark portrayed Grenn in Game of Thrones.
He is also known for his roles in Kajaki, Our Kind of Traitor and Dickensian
What is Love, Lies and Records about?
This brand new series is written by award winning writer Kay Mellor.
The plot
After a dream promotion to the top job of Superintendent, Kate (Ashley Jenson) finds herself increasingly torn by the endless responsibilities of being a modern working mother.
Her daughter’s hiding suspicious messages on her mobile, her son hates her because she’s bought him the wrong trainers and now her stepson’s turned up unannounced to stay.
As Kate tries to hold her work, life and relationship together, things go from complicated to impossible when a disgruntled colleague threatens to expose a secret from her past.
The series explores how women in particular have to juggle their lives.
Kate has reached the top of her profession but with everything she’s worked for in jeopardy, can she sustain herself when it’s not just her job that’s on the line?
