X Factor host Dermot O’Leary opens up about boozy nights with Nicole Scherzinger and reveals she ‘drinks like a Marine’
DERMOT O’LEARY has opened up about his boozy nights out with NICOLE SCHERZINGER, revealing: “She’s like a Marine.”
The X Factor host told how the pair once drank a posh mansion out of alcohol.
And Dermot said that unlike him, Nicole has an incredible ability to bounce back after a heavy night.
He told me this week: “Nicole and I had a great time last year at her judge’s house in Nice, France, where we drank the place dry. There was nothing left.
“We had this lovely chef who cooked us dinner and he was in awe of Nicole.
“At the end, Nicole goes, ‘Do you have any port?’ He looked mortified, disappeared and came back with four glasses of Madeira wine.
“So we start drinking it, and he comes back with this bottle that looked like it was out of a cash and carry.
“I said to Nicole: ‘I think this is cooking sherry.’ But we finished it anyway.
"The most amazing thing about Nicole is that I woke up the next day feeling rough, then I see her just getting ready. It’s like it has no effect on her.
“For the rest of us, hangovers get worse as we get older but she’s a Marine. I’ve never seen anything like it.”
This year Nicole was joined at her judge’s home in Johannesburg, South Africa by STORMZY, who helped select her final three for the live shows.
And Dermot was so impressed by the grime rapper that he would back him as a future X Factor judge.
He said: “Stormzy is brilliant. He loves the show and his comments were really insightful — I think SIMON COWELL would go for it.”
Stormzy might be in the frame for a future job but at the moment, boss Simon is focusing on signing a new deal with CHERYL.
The Sun on Sunday revealed this month that Nicole will be replaced on the panel by the ex-Girls Aloud star in a £1.5million deal.
But while Dermot has a great relationship with Cheryl, he will be sorry to see his pal leave.
He said: “I don’t want Nicole to go. She has the best voice in the competition so all the contestants defer to her.
"She’s a brilliant judge and the panel would be poorer without her.”
No pressure, Cheryl.
Tokio to insure his hands
NOW he’s got a major record deal after winning Britain’s Got Talent, pianist TOKIO MYERS plans to insure his hands for millions.
In an exclusive chat Tokio, whose debut album My Generation is out now, told me: “There’s talks for a considerable amount of money . . . I’m trying not to do anything crazy like ED SHEERAN when he broke his arms.”
Tokio’s April tour sold out in hours when tickets went on sale last week, and now he’s looking to book festival slots.
He’ll definitely be worth standing in the mud for.
Lottie's looks just pucker
LOTTIE MOSS’ split from Made in Chelsea love rat ALEX MYTTON seems to have put her off men . . . for now.
Supermodel KATE’s younger sister was pictured puckering up to Alex’s reality co-star EMILY BLACKWELL at TALLIA STORM’s album launch in London on Friday, where they partied ’til the early hours.
Lottie split from Alex in August amid claims he cheated. At least she’s keeping her options open.
Miley is life and sole...
MILEY CYRUS was spotted sticking her tongue out – again – while she was at LA’s Venice Beach on Thursday.
The singer was pictured tossing a shoe in the air as she filmed a Converse ad.
As cameras rolled, Miley was seen paddling by the shore while carrying the trainers by the laces.
Despite not getting into the footwear, nobody could accuse her of not getting into the colour scheme after she managed to match her jumper, earrings and even her hair to the trainers.
But later, Miley changed into two other outfits as filming resumed – including a prim retro dress and lime hat combo this time with a pair of violet Converse on her feet.
Well, if you’re going to promote the shoe, you might as well get a pair in every colour.
Mel B's Hubby 'wants £10m divorce pay-off'
MEL B has had a rough year – and things could soon get a lot worse.
She is due in court on Monday to hash out the final stages of her divorce agreement with STEPHEN BELAFONTE.
He already gets £40,000 a month in spousal support from former Spice Girl Mel but sources claim he will demand £10million – HALF her total worth.
The source revealed: “Stephen and Mel were together for ten years and he is claiming he helped rebuild her career.
“Under California law, he would be entitled to half of everything she has.
“Mel might not have much disposable cash but she still has their house, their restaurant, her jewellery . . . Stephen is convinced he is entitled to this money – and plans to do his best to get it.”
Britney's is in fashion
BRITNEY SPEARS teased fans this week with an Instagram post showing her kissing snapper PETER LINDBERGH captioned “Secret Project”.
But thanks to my sources, her project hasn’t stayed secret for very long. I can reveal the pop princess is teaming up with fashion label Kenzo for its spring/summer campaign. And she has been having meetings at the company for months.
One source said: “Britney is incredibly excited about the campaign. She has had a whole look especially made for her.
“Everyone has been sworn to secrecy until the official announcement.” Clearly not everybody.
It's £1m buzzer man Jez
I HEAR JEREMY CLARKSON is in talks to present a revamped version of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?
The hit telly show, originally presented by CHRIS TARRANT, aired on ITV from 1998 to 2014.
But three years on, my sources say the format is set to be revived, in conjunction with Sony.
One source at the company told me this week: “The bosses are desperate to get Jeremy on board because he says it like it is and won’t mince his words with the contestants.
“Plus, of course, he has a huge fan base thanks to Top Gear and The Grand Tour.
“They are sure he would help make the show a huge smash and he is also said to be very keen on the idea.”

Noel's A-list performance
NOEL GALLAGHER made himself centre of attention at an A-list bash by tumbling down a flight of stairs.
The former OASIS rocker was at gastropub The Cow in West London when he fell on Thursday.
U2 legends BONO and THE EDGE, and VICTORIA BECKHAM, were among those who saw Noel take the spectacular tumble.
One pub-goer told me: “Noel was pretty trollied. When he got up looking sheepish, everyone roared with laughter. It wasn’t very cool.”
Wood's family tree
RONNIE WOOD is hoping to delve into his family history – by appearing on BBC genealogy show Who Do You Think You Are?
The ROLLING STONES rocker, who’s also a talented artist, revealed he has been approached by the team behind the show and is keen to take part.
Ronnie is convinced the BBC’s expert researchers will find he has Spanish ancestors, because his hair has stayed jet black.
When asked about his artistic streak, Ronnie said this week: “My brothers were artists and little Ronnie was the funny musician and artist.
“Were my parents arty? No, but they were very admiring and appreciative of their sons’ talents because my dad was a busker. He busked on the piano and harmonica, he’d have a go.
“My mum did needlework and crochet. (She was) very clever with that. They’ve asked me to do Who Do
You Think You Are? so I might just do that to find out where it all comes from.”
He added: “I think maybe there’s some Spanish genes – hence my hair at 70.
“There must be some continental genes in me.”
At the launch of his book Ronnie Wood: Artist, published by Genesis, Ronnie also told how he has been artistic since a young age.
He even showed off an oil painting of a shop he did at the age of 12.
I’m guessing that’s worth a bit more now.
