Sam Black’s X Factor exit was bittersweet as he reveals he missed son so much ‘he got really down and wanted to go home’
Rak-Su were crowned the winners of last night's X Factor quarter final as Sam, Sean and Conor Price were all given their marching orders in a double elimination
SAM Black says he missed his son Mason so much during X Factor that he got "really down" and considered going home.
The singer's departure from the ITV show last night was bittersweet after he missed out on spending time with the one-year-old.
He exclusively told The Sun Online: "You have moments where you're feeling really down and think 'do you know what? I just want to go home.'"
But Sam said he never thought about quitting the show.
'I never really thought about packing it in completely but there were days where I was really missing Mason and got really down, do you know what I mean? I'd never quit on anything."
Sam kept up to date with Mason through Facetime but says missing him and his fiance Emma was "the hardest thing" about competing on the show.
He said: "I missed him loads and he's changing so much! All the time.
"He's getting his little teeth coming through, he's a little belter."
The singer will especially miss fellow competitor Kyle Cutkelvin who became one of his best friends on the show.
