I’m a Celebrity viewers baffled by Richard Madeley’s jungle makeover as he joins Extra Camp panel
RICHARD Madeley baffled I'm a Celebrity viewers with his jungle makeover on the first episode of Extra Camp.
The 61-year-old journalist was a guest on the panel of the ITV2 spin off show as it returned for a new series with Scarlett Moffatt, Joel Dommett and Joe Swash at the helm.
Having jetted to Oz to be part of the programme on its first night, Richard left his suits and ties at home and donned a much more casual ensemble for his appearance.
Taking his seat next to Maya Jama, Richard wore a pair of slim leg black jeans and a fitted short sleeved T-shirt.
The presenter - who was without wife Judy Finnigan - also sported a deep tan and lighter coloured hair, and the combination of all these new things seemed to distract viewers from what Richard had to say about the new camp mates.
Taking to Twitter, fans of the show were keen to discuss the star, with one writing: "Can't cope with Richard Madeley's t-shirt and highlights..." while another added: "How much make up has Richard Madeley wearing lol [sic]".
A third tweeted: "Is Richard madely wearing mascara? [sic]".
Indeed, Richard eyelashes were the talk of Twitter, with another viewer writing: "Richard Madeley is eyelash goals right now".
However others were distracted by Richard's T-shirt, which displayed a lot of his arms, which are usually concealed under a shirt and jacket.
One viewer wrote: "Richard's sleeves are a bit short like" while another said: "Richard Madeley that t-shirt is not a good look!"
Earlier in the show, the new hosts chatted to Ant and Dec about the new batch of celebrities and how they felt the main programme had gone.
His cutting remark came after Joe's girlfriend Stacey Solomon was given the boot, along with ex Jungle Queen Vicky Pattison and comedian Chris Ramsey.
The cheeky Geordie quipped: "I much prefer you to all the people last year," in a comment which left former EastEnders actor Joe looking a bit put out.
