Rebekah Vardy’s pal forced to defend her after trolls wrongly accuse her of sending homophobic tweets
REBEKAH Vardy's friend has come to her defence after trolls wrongly accused the WAG of sending homophobic tweets.
The I'm A Celebrity star has been caught in the crossfire after Jack Maynard was axed from the show over his racist message scandal.
Jack left the show last night after The Sun revealed he had posted a number of racist and homophobic tweets online.
Trolls later took to Twitter to claim his departure was unfair - and they dug up some old messages posted by his former camp mate Rebekah in a bid to prove their point.
They accused her of posting homophobic messages on the site back in 2013.
In the screenshot they shared, the WAG appeared to be bantering with pals as she wrote: "@MrHarryWood: @Xelahopkins1984 @Little_Miss_Foz what about the 3rd “bird” the gay walker? @jay_walker25 ginger gay w**ker ha ha PMSL."
Jay Walker, who was linked in on the tweet, has now defended his longtime friend Rebekah and explained the message was completely innocent.
In a series of posts on his own Twitter page, he revealed the trolls "got it wrong" as the people copied in on the message were just repeating names they had been called by others.
Jay tweeted: "I hate to disappoint people by this tweet was to me & we were all just repeating names a guy had called us...
"Nothing homophobic about it & actually mocking someone who had been.

"Good luck Mrs Vardy."
He later reposted his message and added: "Hang fire you’ve read into something incorrectly & have walked into a conversation between me & @RebekahVardy half way though & got it wrong."
It comes after Jack Maynard was given the boot after offensive tweets he posted years ago re-emerged.
He exited the show last night with hosts Ant and Dec delivering the shock news to fans.
