MARK HANRETTY has been a professional skater on Dancing on Ice for over a decade and could now be set to win the 2024 series.
The Glasgow-born dancer has made it to the last stages of the Holly Willougby and Stephen Mulhern-hosted show, with the finale set to air on March 10.
Who is Mark Hanretty?
Mark is a professional skater and ice dancer from Scotland.
He was born on March 21, 1985.
Mark first became interested in skating after watching Dancing On Ice stars Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean compete at the 1994 Olympics in Norway.
He and his skating partner Christina Chitwood made their professional debut at the 2007 British Championships and the pair went on to win two bronze medals; one in 2008 and the other in 2010.
They also competed at the 2009 European Championships and placed 18th.
Mark has appeared in several of Dancing On Ice's previous series and made his debut in 2011 when he was partnered with Loose Women host Nadia Sawalha.
When asked how he first got invited onto the show, Mark told : "I got involved with Dancing On Ice when I was working with Christopher Dean as my choreographer.
"Christopher was due to choreograph my next competitive routine but instead, he helped me get a job on the ITV show."

Mark is married to Nottinghamshire-based skating coach Kathy.
The couple wed in June 2011 at Chatsworth House in Derbyshire.
The pair have two children together, Lukasz and Liola.
Mark often refers to his beloved family as his "wee clan".
Who is Mark partnered with on Dancing on Ice?
Mark is partnered with former Radio 1 DJ Adele Roberts on the 2024 series of Dancing On Ice.
After the news was announced in November 2023 Mark took to social media to praise the star.
Posting on Instagram he said: "Got a special one! Skating with @adeleroberts this series and proud to be playing a tiny part in sharing her incredible example of resistance and strength."
Adele announced that she was undergoing treatment for bowel cancer in October 2021 and announced she was cancer-free in June 2022.
The former Big Brother star joined the BBC in 2012 as part of the Radio 1 Xtra team before moving to Radio 1 in 2015 to host the Early Breakfast Show.
In June 2023 the BBC said she had "decided to leave" the station.
Ahead of the Dancing On Ice finale it was reported that Mark and Adele were the favourites to win the series.
The couple are set to take on fellow finalists Greg Rutherford and Vanessa James, Miles Nazaire and Vanessa Bauer, and Ryan Thomas and Amani Fancy.
