Katy Perry’s dinner date with The Weeknd ‘was revenge on Selena Gomez’ after HER night with Katy’s ex Orlando Bloom

KATY Perry’s dinner date with The Weeknd was “her revenge” on Selena Gomez – after the popstar spent the night with Katy’s ex Orlando Bloom.

Single Katy and The Weeknd, real name Abel Tesfaye, shocked fans by enjoying a cosy night out in Hollywood earlier this week, but insiders tell The Sun Online it was all part of Katy’s plan.

In May last year, Katy was furious after Selena and Orlando were spotted looking very friendly inside a nightclub in Las Vegas while they were still together.

A source explained: “Katy has a long memory and she never forgets.

“She didn't like that everyone thought Orlando had cheated on her with Selena in Vegas that time - even though Orlando and Selena said they were just friends, it was very embarrassing for her.

“Katy is not doing anything wrong right now - Selena has moved on from Abel with Justin [Bieber] but I think she'll love the idea that Selena will be shocked when she sees Katy and her ex out together.

“If she does get upset, it'll be payback for how Katy felt after THOSE Vegas pictures.

“As Taylor Swift knows, Katy doesn't forget people who've made her look bad, and she thinks revenge is a dish best served cold.”

Onlookers who saw Katy and The Weeknd on their date say the pair sat together and enjoyed dinner, as well as each other's company, before leaving separately at midnight.

Selena and The Weeknd had enjoyed a ten month romance before calling it quits last month.

A source said at the time: “She and Abel have been going back and forth for a few months about their relationship.

“It’s been hard with him being on tour and her shooting in New York. That wasn’t easy on them.”

Since their break up, Selena has moved on with her ex-boyfriend Justin.

Earlier this month The Sun Online exclusively revealed the former lovers had rekindled their romance.

An insider explained: “They started texting when she was in hospital for her kidney transplant. Justin only found out through the press and he was hurt that she hadn't told him directly.

“Justin basically has been asking her for her forgiveness this whole time.”
