AMIR Khan is the best paid star in I’m A Celebrity after bosses paid almost £400,000 to get him.
The boxing champion who says he had never seen the show, was tempted into the jungle by smashing through the previous record fee, understood to have been paid to Katie Price.
Despite wildly inflated reports, most campmates receive fees on a sliding scale of about £250,000 to about £25,000.
A TV source said: “Amir was a great get, but he came at a hefty cost. He’s going to be the best paid celeb they’ve ever had.
“There have been rumours of huge sums being paid to the celebrities but they’re often highly exaggerated.
"Katie Price got somewhere close, but Amir’s is slightly higher again.

Amir’s marriage problems became public in August when he announced plans to divorce his wife Faryal on Twitter.
But just before entering the show, the couple revealed they had reunited.
