Emmerdale ‘witch’ Samantha Giles reveals she’s been casting love spells

Soap star Samantha practises Pagan witchcraft, known as Wicca, and says her spells are popular among her castmates - and they do work

PRACTISING witch Samantha Giles revealed her love spells are popular on the set of Emmerdale.

The actress does wicca, a form of Pagan witchcraft, and is particularly good at love magic, using it to land her husband.

She told This Morning hosts Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes: “My love spells are quite popular among the cast and crew in Emmerdale. Some of it is manifesting, putting out there what you want to get.”

The actress also showed off her Wicca crystals.

The Northern Irishman joked that while Samantha was a white witch, he’d got himself an evil black witch in the form of Ruth.

Samantha’s character Bernice could benefit from one of her spells.

The star previously told Soaplife: “I am a witch, but not in the way people understand it.

“I’m really a Wiccan, so no broomsticks or black hats.”

The soap stalwart first appeared in the Dales in 1998 and worked as a barmaid in The Woolpack and later became the landlady. She currently works as a beautician.

Unlucky in love, she’s been married three times – off-screen to Anthony Binns, the second time to Ashley Thomas in 2000 and to Lawrence White in 2015.

Viewers who didn’t know about Samantha’s unusual lifestyle, commented their surprise on Twitter.

They wrote: “Great interview . So interesting xx
