The X Factor’s Cutkelvins reveal the real reason their brother didn’t join the band for the show
Jay, Shereen and Kyle Cutkelvin made it through to the semi-finals of this year's series before getting the chop
JAY, Shereen and Kyle Cutkelvin have revealed the real reason behind their brother Brandon-Lee's absence from the band during this year's X Factor - his lack of confidence.
The X Factor trio were knocked out of the ITV talent show in the semi-finals on Sunday, joining Lloyd Macey and Matt Linnen in the last eliminations cull before this week's finale.
However, they have spoken openly about their younger brother, Brandon Lee, becoming their fourth member by the end of this year, leading some to speculate why he hadn't joined them on their televised journey.
But now the group have been reunited the band have already started rehearsals to make him a fully-fledged Cutkelvin group member.
Speaking to The Sun Online, Shereen said: "We've been starting already! We had a proper rehearsal today with all of us.
"He said to us as we came off the show ‘is there still a space in the band for me?’ - so that’s a definite thing that’s going to be happening, we just have to ease him into it all."
Jay revealed that Brandon, 16, was suffering with confidence issues before their first audition and as a result stepped back, allowing his siblings to go forward on the show as a trio.
Despite this, their success has led him to face his fear and take the stage with the rest of them.
He told us: "When we started off in the X Factor, and did the first audition, he was just working on his confidence at the time."
"But now he’s built that up," he added. "And he’s been watching us on stage every week as well, he’s realised he can do it.
"So he’s looking forward to just jumping into the deep end for it.
The group then joked: "He’ll be the womaniser, he’ll bring all the women."
However, despite this, Brandon Lee will not be seen with them on the upcoming X Factor live tour.
Shereen said: "He’s still in the military training for singing at the moment, so we’re going to ease him into it. But the tour will just be us three."
Speaking to us previously, Shereen told us all about the 16-year-old joining the group.
Speaking to us last week, the siblings said they couldn't wait for their younger brother to join the group.
Proud sister Shereen said: “He’s turning 17 on Christmas Eve so he’s gonna bring all the young girls in!
“He’s already got quite a lot of followers! Just for looking good. He’s the good looking Cutkelvin.
“He’s not even opened his mouth yet and he’s got more followers than all of us!,” added brother Kyle.
Brandon has already appeared on several of the band's group photographs, which they've published on their social media accounts.
The group – who come from a family of six – have ruled out becoming an English Jackson 5 however, despite several of their siblings also boasting musical abilities.
