IT'S no secret Amir Khan isn't the biggest I'm A Celeb fan, but that doesn't stop his latest gaffe coming as a shock.
Extra Camp's Joel Dommett revealed the boxer was unaware he was being filmed in the Bush Telegraph for his first couple of days in camp.
The comedian said: "Someone told me this and I don't know whether I'm allowed to say this - but I'm bloody doing it.”
"Someone said to me that when he was first in the Bush Telegraph, for the first couple of days, he didn't know he was being filmed.
"Isn't that the sweetest thing you've ever heard?
“He thought he was just talking to someone and it was just like a weird little, sort of, therapist."
Amir has grown on viewers during his time in the jungle and is now one of the favourites to take the crown.
His amusing observations, such as the jungle is filled with trees and leaves, and his surprise that there's been a female Prime Minister has endeared him to fans.
The star joined the show as it was “the only space he could get away to” in order to avoid more marriage and family drama, according to a close friend.
This summer the boxer and his wife Faryal Makhdoom split amid his claims she’d had an affair with fellow boxer Anthony Joshua, and the 30-year-old also fell out with his entire family over their rifts with Faryal.
The couple are now back together with Faryal expecting their second child, but his lifelong friend Saj Mohamed said he needed to go to the jungle to escape all the drama.
Saj told The Mirror: “It was a tough time. He had nobody around him. He fell out with his family and then he fell out with his wife. It’s so great to see him back with a smile.
“Everyone was shocked he decided to go in. But he needed a break.
“He’s had a really horrible year. He just wanted to get away. The only space he could get away without getting into any more dramas or trouble is there.”
And while Amir was looking forward to being without his mobile and those causing strife, Saj confirmed the boxer’s confession that he had never seen the ITV show.
Saj continued: “He’ll have no mobile, no friends and no family. He wants to enjoy it – but he had no idea what he let himself in for.”
“He’s been in a lot of stressful situations that should never have been made public. He’s paid the price for it this year.
“He knows people think he’s cocky and arrogant, and he wants to change that. Everyone who knows him knows he’s nothing like that.

“He’s gone through so much and achieved so much. I think he’s realising apart from the last year, the previous 12 had been amazing.
“It would be great to see him win. He makes great TV and has been entertaining. I think he deserves to win it.”
“If you took him out of the jungle, the show wouldn’t be the same.”
