CORONATION Street stars turned on sex pest Bruno Langley tonight after he admitted groping two women in a drunken club disgrace.

Two female cast members broke ranks to lash out at the shameful behaviour of the actor who joined the soap as gay Todd Grimshaw 16 years ago.

One of the show’s senior favourites condemned his behaviour and said: “Getting hammered on drink and then assaulting women is no excuse or has any place in this world.

“We on the set were prepared to give Bruno the benefit of the doubt until the allegations were proved.

“There is genuine shock here that he has confessed to these vile, degrading actions against women who were simply trying to enjoy a night out. It’s awful.

“You cannot use being drunk as any possible excuse for degrading women in this way. How do you justify that? It’s disgraceful.”

And a second Corrie female star added: “Blaming drink for outrageous behaviour is totally unacceptable.

“What the hell was he thinking of? He works on a family TV show, is recognised in public, then goes out and single-handedly destroys his reputation and career by resorting to sexually assaulting women.

“Everyone I’ve spoken to on the show agrees that he will get what is due to him, and he’s his own worst enemy.

“He’s not winning any popularity awards here whatsoever.”

Langley, 34, grabbed the women by the crotch during a night out at Band On The Wall in Manchester city centre at around 1am on October 1.

He was said to have also molested two others at the venue although these women never came forward to make a formal complaint.

Outside court, Langley's solicitor Simon Hancock seemed to blame playing gay character Todd Grimshaw for his client's actions.

“It was completely out of character. Something happened that night, most possibly in relation to the character he was playing. These two offences happened within one evening but are linked to alcohol. The result was despicable behaviour.”

The actor admitted two sex assaults when he appeared before JPs in Manchester and was given a 12-month community order.

He was also told he must sign the sex offenders’ register for five years and ordered to pay his two victims £250 each.

Langley was fired by ITV after the allegations surfaced and it is believed he will make his last appearance on screen on Christmas Eve.
