Former Strictly star Mark Foster makes first appearance since coming out as gay as he joins Ellie Goulding and Lottie Moss at Elton John’s charity party
MARK Foster stepped out for Elton John's Club Love charity event as he made his first appearance since coming out as gay.
He was joined at the glitzy bash by a host of famous faces including Ellie Goulding, Lottie Moss, Graham Norton and Sam Smith.
The former Strictly Come Dancing contestant looked every inch the sophisticated gentleman as he donned a sharp black blazer with matching oversized bow-tie.
The Olympic swimming hero - who scored over 47 medals throughout his career - came out as gay earlier this week.
: "It’s not like I’ve been pushed to come out. I’ve just swerved and swerved.
"Telling half-truths and not being my true self is only hurting me. I’m 47, a middle-aged man, and I’m no longer competing."
Mark posed for pictures next to Rugby professional Gareth Thomas who came out in 2009.
In his recent interview where he confirmed his sexuality, Mark Foster said: "I’m not the first gay sportsman to come out. Gareth Thomas and Tom Daley led the way."
The athlete added: "I tiptoed around the issue for so long. I got really good at the dance of telling half-truths."
Mark was joined by a host of famous faces at the Club Love event which raises cash for the vital work done by the Elton John AIDS Foundation.
Ellie Goulding looked a vision of elegance and glamour in a floor-length metallic gown which exposes her leg and bare shoulders.
The award-winning songstress accessorised her look with subtle jewellery including a diamond necklace.
Lottie Moss was also giving glamour and class in a black corset with a studded snake necklace.
Graham Norton was on hosting duties while Sophie Ellis-Bextor attended with husband Richard Jones.
The British singer recently confirmed she's back in the studio working on a remixed greatest hits collection that will see some of her most-loved tunes turned into orchestral epics.
There was no shortage of A-list entertainment at the Club Love fundraiser as host Elton John took to the microphone to address the crowd and showcase why he is one of the nation's most-loved entertainers.
Fresh from scoring another chart-topping album, Sam Smith was at the event to lend his talent to proceedings.
The crooner had a host of celebrities rushing to the front of the stage as he performed some of his greatest hits.
