STRICTLY’s Debbie McGee has apologised for disappointing viewers who had hoped she’d find love again with her hunky dance partner.

The youthful show favourite, 59, sparked rumours that she had grown close to professional Giovanni Pernice, 27, after they regularly topping the leader board thanks to their electric chemistry.

Now the glamorous assistant - who was devastated when her magician husband Paul Daniels died of a brain tumour last year - has admitted that she feels like she’s let the public down who had hoped to see romance blossom.

Debbie revealed: “People want me to be in a relationship with him and I’m really sorry to disappoint them.”

She added: “For a woman of my age it’s very flattering that people think there might be a romance. I do have a little chuckle to myself. We have the greatest working partnership and do have chemistry.

“We are great mates and I think that’s probably more special than if there was anything else going on.”

Debbie revealed that her and Giovanni are just mates

Debbie previously admitted that the BBC dancing show gave her back “her sparkle” following the death of her husband after she was stripped of her confidence.

Now she’s revealed that she’s helped inspire others who have lost their loved ones.

She added: “I’ve had lots of messages from people who are going through grief and that I’ve made them realise that life can go on and you can still be happy.

"That’s been fantastic and is a great feeling.”
