Love Island stars Rykard Jenkins and Rachel Fenton announce their split after eighteen months
Another Love Island couple have called it quits after dating for nearly a year and a half.
LOVE Island stars Rykard Jenkins and Rachel Fenton have split up after eighteen months of dating.
The reality star couple first met on the raunchy ITV2 show back in 2016, and while becoming one of the longest lasting couples on the show, their relationship has now run its course.
Nurse Rachel confirmed they had split up earlier today on Twitter, simply stating: "Rykard and I are no longer together.
"We have decided to go our separate ways but I wish him all the best in the future."
The Love Island couple became firm favourites during their time on the show after Rachel was eliminated from the island and Rykard was told to stay.
In one sweet moment, Rykard opted to leave the island voluntarily, throwing in his chance of winning his share of £100,000 in order to pursue a romance with her off-camera.
It came after a rocky start for the pair, after Rykard had a late night tryst with Olivia Buckland - while Rachel was asleep in the same room.
Olivia is now engaged to Alex Bowen, who she paired up with on the same show.
Since then, Rykard has become a rep on another ITV show, Ibiza Weekender, while Rachel continued with her studies.
The split announcement came just a day after a cryptic message from Rachel simply stating: "Physically shaking with anger."
However, no explanation for the message was provided and there is no suggestion the two messages are connected.
Rachel was given support by Kady McDermott - who split with her Love Island beau Scott Thomas earlier this year - and was send a simple "Love You" from her co-star.
