Karen joined under her previous name Karen Hauer.

The couple - who first met as dancers on stage show Burn The Floor - first appeared on the show when they were engaged.

Karen and Kevin were already enjoying success on the show as favourites, but as the romance slowly came out it only boosted their popularity further.

When did Karen and Kevin Clifton split up?

The couple found their relationship hitting headlines, as their communication on Strictly reportedly "became strained".

During the 2017 series Karen had been splitting her time between London and Manchester, whilst Kevin had been travelling an extra 213 miles north to Glasgow.

Performing on the show on December 9, Kevin could still be seen wearing his wedding ring despite his rumoured marriage crisis.

Kevin spent Christmas with his sister and dancer Joanne while Karen visited the US with her family.

In December 2017 The Sun reported that Karen had been dating an accountant as her marriage hit the rocks.

Then in February 2018 The Sun exclusively revealed that the couple were set to divorce two months after their marriage was rocked by Karen having an affair.

Karen was spotted a number of times with Stuart Wood in South West London, near to where she shared a home with Kevin.

But it wasn't until March 14, 2018 that the couple officially confirmed their split.

However they shared a passionate kiss on stage during their UK dance tour in 2018  which could spell the possibility of a reconciliation.

Will Karen and Kevin Clifton be returning to Strictly Come Dancing in 2018?

Karen and Kevin have confirmed they will return to the show in 2018 despite their impending divorce.

An insider told : “They’ll both be back. If they got back together during the months the show was on, it could be a reverse curse.

“We’re all suckers for a bit of romance and these two are hugely popular members of the Strictly family.

Karen says they still have a "good friendship" and exclusively told The Sun "anything can happen" regarding the possibility of getting back together with Kevin.

Is Louise Redknapp involved in Karen and Kevin Clifton's split?

Louise and Kevin grew close after they were paired up during the 2016 series of Strictly Come Dancing.

While there has never been an official accusation of an affair, Kevin and Louise’s close relationship was said to have caused trouble in both of their marriages.

Former footballer Jamie Redknapp, 44, had become increasingly concerned about the impact Strictly was having on his 18-year marriage.

Shortly after Louise’s stint on the show, she split from Jamie, and the pair filed for divorce in December 2017.
