NOW that 2018 is here, it’s brought with it a whole host of new characters - and some shock departures.

Who are the new Home and Away characters for 2018?

Willow Harris

New character Willow hit UK screens on January 19 2018, and quickly became a source of interest to Justin.

Actress Sarah Roberts gets into some dramatic scenes with the Morgan brother, as her first scene involves her rocking up on a motorbike and attacking him, wanting to know where some missing money is.

However, Justin already gave the cash to the police, as it fell out of the bumper of a customer’s car.

Keep your eyes peeled for some adrenaline-fuelled story lines between the pair this year.

Jasmine Delaney

The season cliffhanger, which brought with it a shocking character death, was publicised since huge crash scenes were filmed in Australia in 2017.

The storyline saw actress Sam Frost playing Jasmine, who is involved in the crash and starts to become a part of the Bay as she comes to terms with what she’s done.

Rumours circulating say that she strikes up a friendship with Leah and gets a job as a waitress at the Diner.

Colby Thorne

A new police officer, Colby Thorne, arrives in Summer Bay to replace Pia Miller's character - and he's played by actor Tim Franklin.

Colby will become part of life at the Bay and is a love interest for Jasmine Delaney.

So far, he has been seen in intense discussion with Ash, and filming scenes with Jasmine and Leah.

Dean

The Bay sees a return of the River Boys as it moves into a new season, and actor Patrick O'Connor has been cast in the role of Dean.

During the funeral, which airs after the car crash scenes in the season finale, Dean is seen leading the procession down to the beach with Ash after the ceremony.

Ash and various gang members are also involved in a brawl with police officers, and Dean has been seen in friendly scenes with newcomer Willow.

Who is leaving Home and Away in 2018?

Kat Chapman

Kat’s death was leaked as the season cliffhanger in Home and Away, with the long-standing character passing away in the aftermath of a major car crash.

Her unborn child was also killed, which proved an additional blow for Ash, who was the baby’s father.

Australian viewers saw these scenes towards the end of December 2017, but UK fans had to hang on until March 2018 for the tear-jerker plotline.

Hunter King

Olivia and Hunter were a couple for a while on Home and Away, but actor Scott Lee is making a departure to try his luck in the States.

He told Australian magazine TV Week that he is making the move as acting work is becoming more obtainable due to the rise of Netflix - so it’s more than likely fans will be seeing him on that platform instead.

Lately, Hunter and Olivia's relationship ended after her involvement with Axel - but Hunter moved on with someone new...
