Love Island’s Tyla Carr slams Steph Pratt as ‘bitter and malicious’ after split row with Jonny Mitchell
Jonny's former Love Island squeeze lays into Made In Chelsea's 'malicious' Steph for attacking him over 'cheating' before split
LOVE Island's Tyla Carr has labelled Stephanie Pratt "malicious" and "bitter" for blaming her split from Jonny Mitchell on his "cheating".
Tyla, who had a brief romance with Jonny on the ITV2 show, called the Essex businessman a "very honest guy" and said she preferred his side of the break-up story.
American Made In Chelsea star Steph, who began seeing Jonny in the summer, claimed to have received evidence of Jonny's cheating at the end of November.
Around that time, the pair confirmed their split - before they awkwardly avoided each other at the Jumanji 2 premiere.
And Tyla feels that Steph - who has since got close to Towie's Pete Wicks - has painted Jonny in a bad light that he doesn't deserve.
The brunette model told : "[Jonny] explained the situation to me and I 100% believe him. I think she’s taken it a bit too far and is being a bit bitter.
"Jonny’s doing really well and is just trying to get on with his own life and do his own thing.
"He just wanted it to be an amicable thing with them both agreeing and without it being malicious."
And Tyla - whose TV fling with the villa villain began while he was still paired with Camilla Thurlow - added that Jonny is "very honest" and too mature to cheat on a woman.
She added: "He’s an adult, he’s not a child, he’s a gentleman.
"We just get on as friends, and we stayed in contact the whole time he was dating Steph. He’s always been a very honest guy."
Jonny was accused by Steph of cheating on her with a student while doing an appearance at an Exeter event.
Alongside a series of screenshots of messages from fans, Steph wrote online: "I didn’t want to ever indulge more into my cryptic text abt calling the police- but now seeing his secret double life.
"WOW. My heart is just smashed. So much deceit & abuse. WHY. I’m not a bad person... why why why," Steph concluded.
For his part, Jonny has denied being unfaithful, and when asked about the break-up merely commented: "That's life."
Meanwhile the winners of Love Island Kem Cetinay and Amber Davies have also called it a day.
And Tyla says she was shocked about their decision, though she's glad it hasn't been a nasty break-up like Jonny and Steph's.
Tyla commented: "They went through such ups and downs, I was so confident in them.
"But I said to Amber I’m glad you’ve realised it sooner rather than later, as at least they were both amicable about it.
"They’re both fine, and it’s not turned into anything bitter. But I didn’t see it coming.
"It's obviously difficult being that much in the public eye, but you never know what goes on behind closed doors," she added.
"I don’t think anything happened in particular, I think they just realised it wasn’t going to work."
Currently Tyla - who was recently spotted going to the shops in her PJs and smashing eggs on the floor - is promoting her first ever wall calendar, and is pursuing TV projects.
