'IT'S REALLY TOUGH'

Amy Childs reveals she wishes she wasn’t a single mum – after ditching baby Polly’s dad Bradley

Towie star who broke up with her baby's father says dealing with her tot's sleepless nights and relying on her parents for help is getting her down now she's doing it alone

AMY Childs has confessed that she wishes she wasn't a single mum to daughter Polly - after she ditched her baby's dad Bradley Wright.

The Towie star, who was recently awarded 3D-Lipo's Celebrity Mum of the Year 2017, has said that choosing the path of the single parent has plenty of drawbacks - and says she doesn't like waking up alone to deal with Polly.

Amy, who recently swapped her famously red hair for dark brown locks, split from former jailbird Bradley six weeks after giving birth in April.

She said at the time that the relationship ended because felt more like Bradley's "mum" - but admitted she "sobbed" when leaving, taking his daughter Polly with her.

Now she's opened up about the realities of parenting alone, telling : "There are times when it’s really tough.

"Polly usually sleeps through the night, but she’s teething at the moment so she’s been waking up every hour.

"It’s times like that when I’d love to have a partner who could help me out or look after her while I have a bath," she went on.

"I get a lot of help from my parents as they live just down the road, but it doesn’t replace what I’m missing in a partner.

"Motherhood is the best thing I’ve ever done, though – I have no regrets."

Former Towie star Amy, 27, has still managed to cram in lots of holidays since Polly arrived, including a recent one to Cape Verde.

But the star, whose salon closed down in October, says she can be too hard on herself about her performance as a mum.

She went on: "Being a mum is non-stop and sometimes it’s really tough, but I have to remind myself that I’m doing a good job and that I just need to get on with things.

"I’ve also learnt that you become less selfish when you have a child, it’s not all about you anymore."

As for being a solo parent, Amy explained that she wanted Bradley out of the picture because it felt she was less invested in their family future.

Brad and Amy were together since 2014

She said at the time: “When I found out I was pregnant, I said: ‘I want to work so hard to give her the best in life,’ but it felt like Brad wasn’t thinking about that.

Seven months on, Amy added to the mag that she has no plans to get back with Bradley, saying: "Absolutely not.

"We get on better now that we’re not together. We’re never going to be best friends but we work together to do the best thing by Polly."
