Gemma Collins and James Argent NOT together after emotional Towie Christmas special as friends warn her to ‘forget’ him

JAMES Argent’s emotional speech to Gemma Collins may have been the highlight of the The Only Way Is Essex’s Christmas special, but The Sun Online is sad to report that Gemma and Arg are NOT dating now and friends are warning her to forget about him.

Arg and Gemma kissed in front of their cheering castmates and vowed to spend Christmas together, but off-screen, things haven’t worked out and Gemma is now looking to the future.

“Gemma and Arg aren’t together right now – they’re really close friends, but not a couple right now,” an insider tells The Sun Online.

“Her friends are warning her that he’ll never commit to her like she wants – marriage, babies – and that she should forget about dating him and look for someone else.

“She’s signed up to Celebs Go Dating and she’s really throwing herself into it and loves meeting people.

“Gemma wants to find love, so she’s really making the most of being on the show.”

It’s a sad end to the very romantic episode of The Only Way Is Essexmas, where Arg had publicly declared his love for the GC and even kissed her under the mistletoe.

Giving a speech on his 30^th birthday, Arg told the Towie cast: "I'm the happiest I've ever been and looking around the room, there's one person that deserves a mention and it's the GC.

"Gemma you're so lovely to me, you're always there when I need you.

"There isn't an instance when I'm around you and I don't find you b***** hilarious."

Referencing their iconic moment in Marbella five years ago, Arg said: “I f***ing love your candy. And if you were to spend Christmas with me then that would make me the happiest man in the whole world."

However, this week, Arg told Star magazine that his Christmas plans were to “go over and spend a few hours with” Mark Wright’s family in Essex.

During the Towie Christmas special, Gemma revealed that Arg had been constantly calling her since previously turning her down in the series finale.

She opened up on her "72-hour" sleepover and spoke about her confusion over their relationship.
