Born on November 6, 1970, Hawke is a 50-year-old American Actor.
He made his film debut in Explorers, a 1985 sci-fi movie.
His major breakthrough though came four years later with a role in Dead Poets Society.
Arguably Hawke is best known for his performance in Training Day, a gritty crime thriller starring alongside Denzel Washington.
Hawke was nominated for an Oscar for his role while Washington won the Oscar for Best Actor.
A few years later and again Hawke missed out on the Best Supporting Actor Oscar after being nominated for his performance in Boyhood – a film shot over the course of 12 years.
Hawke has also turned his hand to writing – he has penned three novels and one graphic novel.
His first novel, The Hottest State, was published in 1996 and the actor directed the film adaptation in 2006.

Hawke and Hollywood actress Uma Thurman married in May 1998 after meeting on the set of 1996 movie Gattaca.
The pair separated in 2003 and their divorce was confirmed in 2005.
In 2008 Hawke said “I do” again, this time to Ryan Shawhughes – who had worked for a short spell as a nanny to Hawke and Thurman’s children.

Hawke and Uma Thurman have two children together, Maya and Levon.
Ryan went on to have two more children with Ryan Shawhughes, both daughters – Clementine Jane and Indiana.
Who is Maya Hawke?
Maya, 19, was born July 8, 1998, in New York.
She is an American actress and the daughter of Hawke and fellow movie star Thurman.
Maya revealed that her famous father visited her on the set of Little Women when they were filming the series in Ireland.
She played the main part of Jo March and has since gone on to star as Robin Buckley in Stranger Things.
Her brother Levon has also done some acting and joined the cast of Stranger Things in 2020 as a punk rocker.
