Ferne McCann dismissed Arthur Collins bad boy past and planned beach wedding just DAYS before acid attack he got 20 year sentence for
Collins was sentenced to 20 years in jail for the attack which he carried out in the same month of the interview
FERNE McCann dismissed her ex Arthur Collins' bad boy past just days before he carried out the acid attack which he received a 20 year jail sentence for.
The former Towie star, 27, who has since given birth to their baby and parted ways with him, said the couple had "spoken about our wedding" and gushed about her plans for the ceremony in an April interview while defending Collins.
Admitting that they were getting wrapped up in a whirlwind romance, she prompted speculation the pair would imminently tie-the-knot.
She told : "We’ve spoken about our wedding. We want to get married on a beach. I want it to be a party and a celebration. I want these long extensions, mermaid-style hair covering my boobs, with flowers in my hair and no shoes.
"He can wear shorts and a shirt undone, then we want an amazing DJ with bongos and a saxophonist. Lobster brioche buns – just so unconventional."
Ferne added: "I want to be in the best shape of my life and I’d love to wear a backless wedding dress. I’ve been told that I have a great back."
Posing for a loved-up pregnancy shoot with her then boyfriend for the glossy magazine, Ferne was revelling in the romance and even defended Arthur's shady past.
Following The Sun Online's exclusive revelation that the 'bad boy' had been filmed with laughing gas in his car she told the mag:
"He’s a very good boy. Those Facebook posts [Arthur posted about class-A drugs] were nine years ago. We all did silly things when we were teenagers."
Yesterday Arthur — who is the father of Ferne's newborn girl — was found guilty of the April 17 attack after a trial at the Wood Green Crown Court.
He was slammed by a judge as a "despicable liar" as he was caged for 20 years and five years on remand over a horror nightclub acid attack that left clubbers scarred for life.
The 25-year-old thug branded the attack a "stupid little mistake" as his lawyer said he "feels as if the entire world has turned against him".
Sentencing him for 20 years with an extended five years on licence, Judge Noel Lucas QC said Collins was "an accomplished and calculating liar" who has not "demonstrated the slightest remorse".
The judge added that Collins had deliberately taken strong acid to the nightclub "to use when the need arised".
He said that Collins had said "sorry" just once during 90 minutes of mitigation this afternoon, adding: "It was a hollow sorry - not for what he had done, but for the effect of his actions.
"He has expressed not the least remorse for carrying and using a highly corrosive acid.
"The injuries must have been extremely painful and utterly terrifying."
