ADAM Thomas has begged for his Emmerdale role back - just weeks after filming his final scenes.
The soap star revealed he is already desperate to return as he made a very public plea to soap bosses on Twitter.
"Dear @emmerdale I know it's only been a few weeks but am ready to come bk now even if I am a ghost... it's been done before," he told his 339k followers.
The I'm a Celebrity star quit the ITV show after playing Adam Barton for the past eight years.
Speaking about his reason for departing earlier this year, Adam confessed: "I've had an amazing eight years working on Emmerdale and I've loved every minute of it.
"It was a really tough decision to take to leave but I felt that now is the time to move on and challenge myself with some new roles."
He added: "I'd like to thank everyone at Emmerdale for both giving me the opportunity to work as part of such a great team and for giving my character Adam Barton some great storylines."
Producer Iain MacLeod teased only that Adam will have a "huge exit story" - with all being revealed when the scenes air in the New Year.
Though it seems the actor - who is currently at the centre of an explosive storyline - is already having second thoughts after asking bosses to let him come back.
Earlier this month, insiders told The Sun that Adam's Newcastle panto, Jack and the Beanstalk, had turned into a shambles.

It was claimed that "chaotic rehearsals" and delayed wages caused leading lady Denise Welch to pull out of the show, though the allegations were refuted by production company Nice Swan.
As well as flexing his acting muscles, Adam is also preparing to welcome his second child with wife Caroline.
