Who is Paul Hogan and how old is he?

Paul Hogan, 85, was born in Lightning Ridge in New South Wales, Australia, on October 8, 1939.

Hogan's showbiz career began after he appeared on the Australian amateur talent show New Faces in 1971.

He appeared on the show as a "tap-dancing knife-thrower" and won over the audience by throwing knives and making jokes at the judges' expense.

His act saw him make several appearances on New Faces.

Hogan has also starred on British television in advertisements for Foster's lager, playing an earthy Australian abroad in London.

The line "Struth, there's a bloke down there with no strides on!" followed him around for years.

How many times has he been married?

Hogan has been married three times, but twice to the same woman.

The actor and his first wife, Noelene Edwards, married in 1958.

They separated and divorced in 1981, but re-married a year later.

In 1986, they divorced again - and it was considered one of Australia's ugliest celebrity divorces.

The pair share five children together.

Paul married his second wife and Crocodile Dundee co-star Linda Kozlowski in 1990.

However, she filed for divorce from the actor in 2013, citing irreconcilable differences.

The pair have one child together.

After his 2014 divorce, Paul insisted he hadn't given up on love.

Speaking about romance, he said: “The secret to love and women is — if you’re lucky, you get a good one, and they stick around.

“If you’re real lucky, they’ll stick around for a long time. If not, you move on. I haven’t given up.”

What films has he made?

Hogan has appeared in a wide selection of films over the span of his career, including the popular Crocodile Dundee franchise.

During his time filming, Hogan starred alongside Burt - a 110 stone monster saltwater crocodile who was thought to be over 90 years old.

In December 2024, The Sun revealed that Burt had died in captivity in Darwin.

The animals death was announced by the zoo, where he had been kept since 2008.

Other notable films Hogan has starred in include:

  • Fatty Finn
  • Anzacs
  • Almost an Angel
  • Lightning Jack
  • Flipper
  • Floating Away
  • Strange Bedfellows
  • Charlie & Boots

Where is he now?

Following his successful career, Hogan now prefers to maintain a low profile.

In November 2022, the actor appeared in an interview on A Current Affair to discuss the extent of his health struggles.

He said: “[I've] been better. I had a problem on the aorta in the kidney and the treatment fixed it, but it shrunk me,'

“I just... I've lost all my body fat and the muscles all shrank and the strength has come back, because it left me feeble. I get Chance to open jars for me.”

Hogan, who has made no secret about his desire to return to Australia, admitted he would like to be back home but is reluctant to leave his son Chance, who he shares with ex Linda Kozlowski.

He said: ''I'm not in the place I'm meant to be, but I'm not allowed to complain about anything.

“I've had such a gifted life. I've had so many wonderful things happen to me without deserving them so I shouldn't complain but, yeah, ideally I'd rather be back in Sydney because I miss the rest of my family there.”
