Ferne McCann looks strained and stressed with James Argent just hours before ex boyfriend Arthur Collins was sentenced to 20 years in jail for acid attack

Collins was sentenced to 20 years for an acid attack in April, with the judge criticising his lack of remorse

FERNE McCann appeared stressed and strained as she was spotted out and about hours before her ex-boyfriend was sentenced to 20 years in jail.

The 27-year-old former Towie star cut a low-key and slightly dishevelled figure as she headed out in the company of her good friend James "Arg" Argent, yesterday.

Ferne looked a far cry from her usual self as she left a house and headed to a car accompanied by James.

Dressed in a baggy white jumper and black legging paired with some boots, the Essex girl cut a low-key and casual figure.

Wearing a minimal amount of make-up and with her hair tied back, she wore a troubled expression on her face.

James looked equally glum as he strolled along beside her.

However, just hours earlier, Ferne had been posting on social media, with her account showing no trace of her upset.

Her appearance with Arg came just before Arthur Collins — who is the father of Ferne's newborn girl — was found guilty of the April 17 attack after a trial at the Wood Green Crown Court yesterday.

He was slammed by a judge as a "despicable liar" as he was caged for 20 years and five years on remand over a horror nightclub acid attack that left clubbers scarred for life.

The 25-year-old thug branded the attack a "stupid little mistake" as his lawyer said he "feels as if the entire world has turned against him".

Sentencing him for 20 years with an extended five years on licence, Judge Noel Lucas QC said Collins was "an accomplished and calculating liar" who has not "demonstrated the slightest remorse".

The judge added that Collins had deliberately taken strong acid to the nightclub "to use when the need arised".

He said that Collins had said "sorry" just once during 90 minutes of mitigation this afternoon, adding: "It was a hollow sorry - not for what he had done, but for the effect of his actions.

"He has expressed not the least remorse for carrying and using a highly corrosive acid.

"The injuries must have been extremely painful and utterly terrifying."
