TRACY Barlow and Steve McDonald enjoyed a night of passion on Coronation Street tonight - in the least romantic way possible.
The former couple got drunk at the Rovers after spending the day at their daughter Amy's carol concert and messing about on a new dating app on Steve's phone.
After discovering Steve's ideal woman looked suspiciously like her, Tracy felt flattered - but Steve joked that he'd "been there, seen that and got the flipping scars" from their relationship.
Tracy then clearly wanted to make the most of the moment anyway and confessed: "I'm trying to figure out if I want to do what I'm about to do, or if I'm just bored and lonely."
Throwing herself onto him, the pair shared a shocking kiss, before Tracy nodded to her front door and said: "So..?"
After a second thinking about it, Steve simply shrugged and said: "Yeah, alright."
And with that they headed inside.
Viewers of the show loved the moment, and applauded the comedic couple in the hopes they get back together.
"You just knew that was going to happen. LOL! Merry Christmas Tracy and Steve. ," said one fan.
While another added: "Steve’s reaction to Tracy kissing him and inviting him in was hilarious! 😂 "
A third fan warned that their romp may have consequences, and said: "Steve and his super sperm will have Tracy knocked up by New Year 😂 "
As others said they were just glad to have the couple back together, and added: "Tracy & Steve take 5, they actually make a good double act, plus I'm happy for anything that means more Tracy Barlow on the telly."
However, as the former lovers fall back into each other’s arms, there will be one person who won’t be best please with the development – their daughter, Amy.
Speaking to The Sun Online, Corrie boss Kate Oates has revealed that the teen is going to see red when she discovers the long-standing Street residents have given their relationship another go.
They said: “Amy’s not happy about it, because she knows that they’re both trouble and on a very shallow level she’s used to things being as they are.
“She gets two birthday presents, two Christmas presents, she gets two sets of Christmas presents as kids of broken homes do.”
However, despite her short-term goals, young Amy is also very aware of her parent’s history – and is already bracing herself for the relationship to end in disaster.
“I think she’s just worried that it will end in tears,” said Kate. “Because she knows that they’re both walking car crashes and everything’s kinda alright and they kinda get on, and I think she’s really afraid of them getting together and then it all imploding so she’s not very happy to start with.”
“But I really like Steve and Tracy,” Kate added. “You can see what sort of thing has drawn them back together.
"They’ve both been around the block so many times the pair of them that actually in a way, maybe they should be brought back together for a while.”
Kate teased: “Whether it will be long-long term, you’ll have to wait and see. Amy’s prophecy may come true.”
