Bake Off champ Candice Brown says she feels like a ‘hippo in a tutu’ ahead of her Dancing On Ice debut
BAKE Off champ Candice Brown said she is like a “hippo in a tutu” as she prepares for next month’s Dancing On Ice.
She also admitted headbutting skate partner Matt Evers in the crotch during practice for the ITV show.
Candice has revealed swapping her apron for tight-fitted sequinned outfits has left her short of confidence.
She said: “You know how in Disney films when you see a hippo and they put a tutu on, and you’ve got all the swans and they are all graceful, and then the hippo goes ‘boom, boom, boom’.
“When I put the leotard on I was like ‘Oh right, okay, there she is, hippo in a tutu’.

“It’s the elegance and things like that, it’s so different from anything I have ever done, the performance thing, the thinking about face, arms body and then the actual skating part.”
She became known for her trademark red lipstick while on Bake Off and promises to wear plenty of it on Dancing On Ice.

She said: “The lipstick is here, obviously. The more the better. When they said ‘obviously you are going to wear lipstick’, I said ‘thank goodness’.
“It would be like Sampson when he had his hair cut off, if I don’t wear lipstick I would lose all my powers.”
Byker Grove actress Donna Air, 38, Bucks Fizz singer Cheryl Baker, 63, and Love Island winner Kem Cetinay, 21, are among the contestants taking part in the rebooted show.
