GREAT British Bake Off fans were left delighted as Selasi Gbormittah and Val Stones returned to the tent for a festive special.
The pair originally appeared in the 2016 series of the Channel 4 show while it was on the BBC.
While Selasi became known for his laidback nature when it came to his cooking, Val is remembered for being delightfully sweet as well as her close bond with her smooth-talking competitor.
They later melted hearts as they spoke about their love for each other to Noel Fielding.
“She’s my favourite OAP!” said Selasi of the 67-year-old former headteacher.
“…And he’s my favourite adopted son,” added Val.
Having them return to the show alongside series four’s Paul Jaggar (creator of the famed lion showstopper) and Becca Lyne-Pirkis was clearly a winner in the viewer’s eyes on Christmas Evening.
All four were on fine form with a series of the show's famed one-liners and cheeky remarks.
At one point Val threatens to send judge Paul Hollywood to the "naughty step" after he made a naughty comment towards her.
In another moment, Paul Hollywood left the ladies of the tent blushing as he complimented them on their "lovely globes".
One viewer wrote: “SELASI AND VAL SAY NO MORE THIS IS A TRUE CHRISTMAS MIRACLE ”
As another added: “Selasi and Val back on our TV screens. What a gift. ”
“As they watched on the show, one delighted fan added: “Oh Val and Selasi. Never change ”
“Oh I am just so happy Selasi is back. Please BBC give him his own programme ”
On the Christmas special of the cooking favourite, Selasi, Val, Paul and Becca were tasked with making a chocolate log, mince pies for technical.
They had to complete their comeback with a showstopper snowglobe cake.
The sugar globe final piece proved to be an intense moment in the tent - as all four couldn't keep the delicate shape from collapsing as they attempted to get what they needed.
At the end of the evening, the four were joined by their friends and family as Paul was crowned the winner.
