Line Of Duty’s Vicky McClure reveals she’s engaged to long-term boyfriend John Owen

The pair met on set of Svengali in 2012 and, after proposing over a cup of tea on Christmas day, the pair went for a romantic stroll near their Nottingham home.

LINE of Duty and This is England star Vicky McClure has announced that she’s engaged to boyfriend Jonny Owen.

The beaming 34-year-old star posed a photo on to Instagram flashing the sparkler on her ring finger alongside her 46-year-old fiance.

Next to the pic, the ecstatic star simply wrote: “YESSSSSSSSS!!!! ❤️🍾❤️🍾❤️🍾❤️🍾❤️”

Jonny later retweeted the post onto his own account to make sure everyone knew that he was now officially off the market.

The pair got engaged on Christmas Day during a romantic stroll, but decided to wait until today to announce the happy news to the public.

Speaking to about the proposal, Vicky said: “We stayed at home for the first time together on Christmas Eve so had Christmas morning together.

“He popped the question over a cup of tea – we moved onto the bubbles by 8.30am.

Jonny – who works as a producer and actor – retweeted the happy moment, which took place on the river of Wollaton Park near their home in Nottingham.

The pair met while filming Svengali – a movie Jonny wrote – back in 2012.

Since then they have appeared on several shows together – with Jonny taking on the role of Taff in This is England 90.
