CELEBRITY Big Brother star Ann Widdecombe branded the show "vulgar and voyeuristic" and admitted she turned it down "more than once" before finally going in.
The former politician revealed she rejected several lucrative deals to appear on the show.
The Sun Online exclusively revealed that Ann, 70, is among the all-female line-up going into the house tonight as the new series of CBB kicks off.
However, Ann has previously poured scorn on the show and insisted she had no plans to ever sign up.
In an interview with in 2012, she was asked which reality shows she had turned down.
She said: "Big Brother - more than once. The last time they made a very big offer and I said no.
"I find it vulgar and voyeuristic."
After retiring from politics in 2010, the former Conservative MP has thrown herself into TV work.
As well as appearing on Strictly Come Dancing in 2010, she has also appeared in shows such as Songs of Praise, Celebrity Antiques Road Trip and Sugar Free Farm.
CBB is latest reality show she is adding to her CV, and she will be joined by a number of high-profile women in the house tonight.

Also going in is glamour girl and reality star Jess Impiazzi, actress Amanda Barrie and DC Maggie Oliver, the trailblazing detective who helped the victims of the Rochdale sex grooming scandal.
The full list of the first CBB housemates also includes Made in Chelsea star Ashley James and transgender TV reporter India Willoughby.
They will be joined by Boris Johnson's sister Rachel Johnson and Keeping Up With The Kardashians' Malika Haqq.
Then on Friday eight men will be introduced to the show to really spice things up.
