EastEnders star Bonnie Langford reveals she’s still suffering hip injury from Dancing on Ice that will ‘probably never’ get better
EASTENDERS star Bonnie Langford has revealed that her hip will "probably never get better” after she tore the joint during her stint on Dancing on Ice.
The 53-year-old actress, who is currently starring on the BBC soap as Carmel Kuzemi, has sent a stark warning to this year’s contestants as she’s still injured following her stint on the show four years ago.
Taking part on the all-stars version of the show in 2014, Bonnie was left with a crippling injury as she repeatedly slipped on the ice while learning tricky lifts and stunts with her professional skating partner.
Speaking exclusively to BANG Showbiz, Bonnie said: "Buy some arnica and get some pads, get those padded trousers the skiers have that you can just fall on and don't be frightened to fall over because it will happen.
“There have been some major injuries. I've still got an injury.
"I've got an impingement in my hip because I tore a bit of my hip when I was doing it last time. It probably won't get better."
However, despite the mishap, the actress couldn't praise the medical team enough for taking care of her.
She explained: "She literally puts people back together again. But you know wear and tear, there's a lot of wear and tear on that show.”
Lending her last piece of advice, she told the new participants: "You've just got to throw yourself into it that's the only way, is just to relax and enjoy it.
“I used to get too nervous, tense, but you know keep enjoying it, keep having fun."
Tonight, twelve new stars are making their debut as the show returns for the first time in four years.
They have already lost cricketer Monty Panesar after he fell and broke his ankle during training.
The spin bowler was replaced by the singer Lemar, who had been secretly training as the programme's reserve contestant.
