AMIR Khan’s wife Faryal Makhdoom claimed her husband was a “changed man” after his return from the I’m A Celebrity jungle.
Speaking on Good Morning Britain, Faryal, 26, said the boxer, 31, now prefers quiet nights staying in rather than partying.
Faryal, who recently reconciled with Amir after several months apart, revealed: “He came back from the jungle a changed man. He doesn’t like going out any more.”
She revealed, laughing, that the man in the jungle “was the real Amir”.
The couple – who have three-year-old daughter Lamaisah together and are also expecting a second this year – spoke to Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid about why their marriage deteriorated back in the summer.
Faryal said: “I was in the UK and he was in Dubai, and he wouldn’t come back with me when I needed to return to the UK.”
Amir said that he had work commitments that prevented him from leaving, before adding: “I think there was a lack of communication.”
Faryal suggested: “I probably made the situation worse.”
On the show Amir was also asked about the string of women he had been linked to in the wake of their split.
He explained: “A lot of them were not true and a lot of those women were also friends of Faryal.”
He added: “It came at a time when me and Faryal were in talks about leaving one another and we had our little girl to think about too.”
Faryal said the couple were keen for a fresh start in the new year.
She said: “We’ve been together for six years and married for four, and we’ve never had a public dispute like this.”

Their reconciliation comes after a very public breakdown of their marriage on social media.
Amir tweeted his wife had cheated on him with Anthony Joshua, triggering a war of words between the couple.
The champion boxer recently revealed that being on I’m A Celebrity helped save their relationship.
