RYLAN Clark-Neal has defended India Willoughby after her stint in Celebrity Big Brother, saying: “She knows what she did wrong”.

The transgender newsreader was evicted from the house on Friday night, and Rylan has now stepped up to insist the controversial contestant just wanted to liven up the “quiet” house.

India riled the other housemates with a number of fiery arguments and outspoken views, and failed to win over viewers.

However, Rylan defended her during his appearance on Lorraine today – and insisted India just wanted to be a big personality and didn’t mean to divide the house with her opinions.

He said: “I don’t think she had a game plan – I think she went in there and it was really quiet and it’s not what we’re used to.

“On Celebrity Big Brother, we’re used to big personalities and arguments, so India thought – there’s my avenue.

“Obviously I can’t speak for her – she’s back on the show [BBOTS] tonight…

“She knows what she did wrong… she did have conversations that were really enlightening.

“She got a lot of people talking about transgender issues.”

After she came out of the house, India admitted her argument with the men on their first night in the house probably ruined her time on the show.

Rylan told Lorraine that India did manage to raise awareness of transgender issues

She said: “I peeved them on the first night with the question about gender and love, my tactics were all over the place and once your frozen out it’s difficult to get back in.

“I was psyched up to mix it a little bit, maybe have some confrontations, stir things up, cause trouble, but it’s not that house.”

The transgender star spoke frequently about her status in the house and frustrated housemates who wanted to get to know her beyond that, and now she realises she did herself an injustice.

India added: “I should have kept my gob shut and just waited for the questions to come and answered the questions one by one, instead of burying people under a load of statements and views.

“I feel I was fatally wounded in terms of the game of Big Brother early on.

“I don’t feel I’ve done myself justice, that is my one regret. Did I want to stay tonight? Yes. Did I give my best show? No.”
