When is Hold The Sunset on BBC One and what’s it about?

Hold the Sunset season two episode six airs tonight (September 6) on BBC One at 9pm.

The show was originally called Edith, but the BBC changed its name before it hit screens.

You can watch episodes one to four now on the along with the first series.

John hasn’t appeared in BBC sitcom since Fawlty Towers, which was broadcast on BBC Two in 1975 and 1979.

What will happen on tonight’s episode of Hold The Sunset?

With her annoying sister Joan safely packed off home, Edith is thrilled when Phil announces that Jack Dugdale has made an offer on his house, which he has accepted.

Now they can get on and plan their future together, starting with the wedding.

But theirs is not the only romance in the air. While out jogging, Dugdale astonishes Sandra by proposing to her.

Wendy’s book, The Lemming Family, is fast becoming a best seller, which is affecting all the family, who are thinly disguised as characters in it.

Phil calls a meeting to prepare for a showdown with Wendy.

What have Alison and John said about working together again?

John and Alison are no strangers to working with each other – having teamed up for the 1986 comedy film Clockwise, where Cleese played an uptight school headmaster obsessed with punctuality.

John said: “These are the most enjoyable scripts I’ve been sent in the last 100 years. It will also be particularly nice to work with Alison again since we joined forces in Clockwise all that time ago.”

Alison added: “I’m thrilled to be in Hold The Sunset and working with such an amazing cast.”
