How old is Suggs from Madness and why is he called Suggs?

Suggs was born in Hastings, Sussex, on 13 January 1961 - that makes him 57.

Believe it or not, his real name isn't Suggs - he was born Graham McPherson.

He got the name from a jazz singer called Pete Suggs, who discovered after reading his mother's jazz encyclopedia.

He said: "Mum had a good singing voice, but I knew I wasn't a natural. Mum always had lots of records and good books lying around and I got the name Suggs from a jazz singer called Pete Suggs, who I found in her jazz encyclopaedia."

Who's his wife, Bette Bright?

Suggs is married to Bette Bright, the vocalist of the 1970s British band Deaf School.

The pair met through their mutual friend Clive Langer and married in 1981.

Suggs and Bette live together in Holloway, but take regular trips to their holiday home in the Italian countryside.

They raise two daughters together - Scarlett and Viva.

What is My Life Story – The Movie

Suggs: My Life Story – The Movie is a British independent film musical based on the Madness star.

It's directed by Julien Temple and focuses on Suggs' quest to find meaning to his life after his 50th birthday leaves him wondering who he really is.

The UK release will be celebrated with a Premiere Event on 17th January 2018.
