Mary Berry pockets £400,000 in her first year after quitting the Great British Bake Off
MARY Berry’s dough is still rising after she pocketed £400,000 in the first year since quitting the Great British Bake Off.
The 82-year-old cookery legend saw her assets in Mary Berry Ltd rise by £350,000 to £1.6 million while profits at Mary Berry Merchandising also increased by £50,000, according to latest figures.
Since leaving Bake Off she has filmed new BBC shows including Mary Berry Every Day and The Secrets of Country Houses.
She will also return as a judge on the BBC this spring with new culinary show Britain’s Best Cook, which will put ten everyday cooks through their paces.
Berry, worth an estimated £15 million, bid farewell to “soggy bottoms” when she quit Bake Off in September 2016 after seven years when its production company sold the show to Channel Four.
The TV legend, who first appeared on our screens in the 1970s, stayed with the Beeb out of loyalty while co-judge Paul Hollywood and presenters Mel Giedroyc, 49, and Sue Perkins, 48, jumped ship.
