EastEnders actress Maddy Hill, who played Danny Dyer’s daughter Nancy Carter, lands leading role in Casualty
SHE had a whirlwind two years in Walford as EastEnders’ Nancy Carter, and now MADDY HILL is going somewhere equally dramatic.
The actress has landed a plum job on the cast of Casualty playing paramedic Ruby next month — appearing on screens this summer.
Maddy first burst onto Albert Square in 2014 as the fiery tomboy daughter of Mick and Linda Carter played by DANNY DYER and KELLIE BRIGHT.
Nancy was involved in some gripping storylines, including the rape of her mother, her battle with epilepsy and the coming out struggle of her brother Johnny, a role played initially by SAM STRIKE and, since 2016, by TED REILLY.
The role earned her two Best Newcomer gongs, one at the 2014 British Soap Awards, the other at 2015 National Television awards. But she left the soap a year later to pursue more theatre work.
But her time on Albert Square was short-lived as she left the soap a year later to pursue more theatre work.
She said: “I’m incredibly excited to be working with the BBC again on Casualty.
"It’s such a well loved and respected show and the role of Ruby is like no one I’ve ever played before.”
